If you have a belly, these Lederhosen will fit perfectly. However, I had lost my gut a couple of years ago and wear a 34" waist for jeans, but typically 36" waist for Lederhosen. So, I ordered the 36". This was a mistake as they were far too big. I contacted the owner who explained that Lederhosen fit higher at the waist than jeans. Therefore, to account for increased girth around the stomach, a Size 36 was actually a 38" waist. I'm not sure vendors have this sizing, but it's good to know up front for this one. I returned my Lederhosen for a "true 36" (Size 34, in this case), and they fit perfectly! So, in summary:- Little or no belly? Order a size smaller than your jeans size.- Decent sized belly? Go with your jeans sizeBTW, the owner was very accommodating with the return/exchange, and did a good job explaining why he sizes things the way he does (too many returns using jeans sizing). So, if you want to save yourself a return, follow my advice up front. The Lederhosen are awesome and well made. I'm very happy with my purchase!I am a husky guy that normally wear size 46 shorts but I have really thick upper legs so I normally wear cargo or carpenter shorts. Size 46 in these Lederhosen is a bit snug for me. Well crafted and nice leather with sturdy buttons and look great. There is a silky smooth liner probably made out of nylon. I wore these for an evening around the house to stretch them out a little the day before my party, and still considering to open the stitching on the liner which might give my legs more room to stretch the leather. If you have thick thighs like I do you may want to consider a larger size.This pair arrived well packaged. The waist size was accurate, but too slim in the hips for me. The quality of the leather is very nice, stitching too.We loved the look, the fit and the quality. But their idea of sizing is exceedingly optimistic. It's like when I buy clothes, it's always in the size I plan to be but probably won't be until I've been dead for a few weeks.This is the same philosophy, so plan accordingly.Second skin..... I am serious. So comfy.... Trust me they are legit. I am from Germany.. Can't find anything wrong with them.... besides that girls gonna spank your bottom all night.......That is not bad ether I guess. Well manufactured and I took them on a Hardcore Test last Weekend...
